You probably don´t know, but Im a Surfrider Foundation volunteer since 2011, so I decided that I could give more by giving my illustration skills to the cause and I created a collection of 4 illustration that Surfrider Foundation could use to fundraise its campaigns. I do believe that as surfers we should feel committed with the Ocean and the environmental protection, I always learned that I should giveback and “pay” all the good waves I take for free :D. So I believe we all have different skills and can give different contribution to social or environmental project, we all have our role in the society, in the planet.
I´m in charge of @surfriderpeniche, a project that I truly believe and give my time and heart. And here at home (Peniche, Portugal) I give my hands on the beach clean ups, trying to raise awareness in children and the most challenging, in surfers, trying to start a str
ong and aware community. We should be the voices of the Ocean and the Ocean defenders. :)

Every single piece of plastic ever made still exists.
Only 10% of the marine litter is discarted directly into the ocean. 8 million tons of plastic end each year in the ocean. 1 garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our oceans every minute. It is estimated that by 2050, almost all species of seabirds will have plastic inside their digestive systems, and that will be more plastics in the ocean then fish.1,000,000 seabirds and 100,000 mammals and sea turtles die annually due to plastics…There is no nice story to tell. We are responsible for our choices, and only it can change the future. Until we can change the reality the idylic vision of a surfing paradise is corrupted, and the promised land of our dreams is compromised. THE END
